As another Black History Month comes to a close, it give time to look back at some of the most beautiful people in America that have made great contributions. Models like Naomi Campbell and Tyra Banks know full-well how important Beverly Johnson is to women of all colors.

Although Beverly Johnson's first assignment was with Glamour Magazine, her big claim to fame began when she was the first Black woman to hit news stand racks on the covers of Vogue (American edition) two years back-to-back 1974 and in 1975. Other popular magazines in the 70's also began to alter the beauty landscape. Beverly Johnson has been on the cover of more than 500 magazines including Elle Magazine.

It's no wonder The New York Times named Johnson one of the 20th century's most influential people in fashion.
